Hello Fellow Members!!

I have been toying with this thought for the last six
months or so. Maybe iATN could make some more automotive
history once again!

Are there any experienced driveability techs and/or
Educators/Instructors [who work on Japanese & European
vehicles/driveability] from the network [iATN] who would be
interested in coming to Nepal for a short visit [maybe a
couple of weeks, a month or two] and volunteering their
time here?

When it comes to fixing cars, we here are still in the
Stone Age.

We techs from Nepal could learn so much from you techs/them
especially when it comes to driveability problem diagnosis.

From the technical point of view, techs from abroad would
get to see how auto repairs are handled in this part of the
world and how repair shops have to function under the very
difficult circumstances we are in. They would get to
interact with techs from a totally different background and
culture. We here could learn so much in even a couple of
weeks.

We would also arrange for limited travel for you, during
your stay here in Nepal. In this way you would also get to
see a totally different culture and to mix with people from
the new culture. We here would also get to know techs from
an entirely different culture and back ground. It would, in
a way, be a technical and cultural exchange type of thing.

You would be staying with us; we would take care of
accommodation and board by us. You would be living with a
Nepali family while you are here.

You would however have to arrange your own travel/airline
tickets and have to bring your own diagnostic tools. You
could also use the limited tools that we have here. We have
managed to buy a second hand OTC Vision II from a very kind
iATN member for $900.

Some friends from Nepal have also given us a Horiba 2 gas
Exhaust analyzer for the next 6 months or so. We could not
really invest any more into testing equipment in the near
future.

Most of the cars we work on here are Japanese [Toyota,
Nissan, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Mazda, Mitsubishi etc.], Korean
[Daewoo, Kia, Hyundai] and European [Mercedes-Benz, BMW,
Volvo, VW etc.]. I could give you a list of all the models
that we work on over here if this were to work out. Could
also send a lot of info on Nepal and pictures of the shop,
the city, the country, medical info, travel info, visa fees
etc too.

If any driveability techs/ educators would be interested in
visiting this part of the world and volunteer their time
helping Nepali techs learn more about diagnostics, please
email your reply to this email address:
