The Donations List

I have posted the list of donations from the membership. Just yesterday I received the Vantage Graphing Multimeter from Jan W. Howe of Jan’s Auto Repair in Ashland, Ohio. (It even come with the batteries!)

The day before UPS brought two PST500 OBDII scantools, one from David Frazier; Interro product specialist and the other from Brian Clayworth; Interro Technical Systems Specialist.

The list is long and was prepared for the Danish government who will be helping me bring items through customs. There are still many T-shirts, mugs and stickers that I haven’t detailed as yet. What an outpouring of support!

Approved by Customs

Today at the San Jose U.S. Customs office Chrys and I had to show and identify my camera gear. Any personal items I want to bring back into the country without paying duty on must be itemized on a form 4457. They were sincere, respectful, and extremely courteous officers. No matter how nice they are that big 357 magnum is intimidating. They gave me a few hints that could very well come in handy. I wanted to take their picture but that is against regulations.

I saw Roger Stover from Ontool.com today, he had several automotive instructional manual sets from Chek Chart. These cover automotive systems such as Fuel & Emissions, Tune-ups, etc. Each set includes a classroom manual and a shop manual. While they are not vehicle make specific, they do cover operations, diagnosis and repair procedures in great detail. This addition to the library is fantastic.

Tying Up Loose Ends

Wednesday night there were last minute urgent messages from Irwin needing information for some of the ministers. He happened to catch me on line at the time and it did get frantic for a bit trying to understand the messages and proper responses. But I think we sorted it out. He sent me the agenda for the "Inauguration." I have never given a speech to government ministers before.

My wife, Chrys, came home yesterday with a large carton of protein bars. I think she know how much I enjoy a snack in the evening and is worried about me keeping up my strength! We are a bit sad because she will be on-stage at the Civic Auditorium singing the Brahms Requiem when I leave for the airport. iATN member Eugene Saar is driving with me to the airport. Turns out my plane leaves at 12:05 on the day we change to daylight savings. That means that 12:05 becomes 1:05. Very confusing and another reason to arrive early. I am definitely going to use curbside check-in on this trip.
